Alonzo King LINES Ballet's Educational Programs
Students of the Alonzo King San Francisco Dance Center, the Alonzo King
LINES Ballet School, and the Alonzo King LINES Ballet/Dominican University
of California BFA Program will perform an exciting mix of dances including
funk fusion, afro-modern, and ballet. The event will include works by LeeWei
Chao, Stacey Printz, Yeni Lucero and Michael Velez and a lead along session
for audience members to participate in.

Mad Karma
Mad Karma is a 5-piece, original rock band hailing from the East Bay of
Northern California. With over 50 years of collective stage experience, the
guys are known for their personable and appreciative fan interaction.
Members have shared the stage with Sammy Hagar, Brad Gillis, opened up
for Blue Oyster Cult and continue to do their best to raise money for a variety

A leading advocate of his native country’s music, Bolivian-born Oscar
Reynolds is an accomplished composer, internationally-acclaimed Andean
flute master and guitarist. His music is rooted in Bolivian tradition while
blending Afro-Peruvian, Brazilian, and Flamenco traditions.

Crosscut Band
Crosscut, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, plays a unique mix of vintage
blues and rock, along with original music, to create a sound that is all its own.
Their musical influences include early Delta Blues, Memphis and Chicago
Electric Blues, Soul from STAX and Motown, 50's Rock & Roll, 60's and 70's
Rock, and Jazz.

Comedy on the Square
Comedy on the Square presents an afternoon of fun filled magic, juggling,
comedy, variety arts and more hosted by the Bay’s favorite comedy host Tony
Sparks. The performers will include Magician RJ Owens (who has performed
the Edinburgh Fringe Festival) , Comedy Juggler “Frisco Fred” Anderson (who
has performed at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Montreal Just
for Laughs Festival), Comedienne Lynn Ruth Miller (who has performed at
the San Francisco Porch Light Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival and
Edinburgh Fringe Festival).

Kami Nixon
Kami Nixon and the Skiddy Knickers (Kami on lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and
flute; Bill "Sputnik" Spooner on lead guitar and vocals, Michael Romanowski,
on bass and vocals, and John Lazarus on drums) play country-flavored folky
rockabilly with a bit of classically-influenced flute thrown in for texture. The
music is honest and original but it has been described as a sort of Emmylou
Harris meets Elvis Costello kind of thing.

Scaggs) turn their collective body of experience, ace musicianship, great

bending style aims for ONE thing: to get your body moving on the dance floor!

The Swing Dancers will turn back the clock and infect the Square with dance
fever the fourth Wednesday of every month from May through September.

Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble
The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble (LJYE) of San Francisco is a performing
group of talented musicians ages ten to 18. They perform Latin jazz classics
and original compositions at a level that has landed them gigs at the San
Jose Jazz Festival, the KCSM Jazz Festival, KGO Radio, Yerba Buena
Gardens, SF Museum of Modern Art, Paramount's Great America and the
world-renown jazz club, Yoshi’s. The LJYE has shared the stage with
legendary performers such as the great Cuban bassist, Cachao; piano
virtuoso Chuchito Valdes; Latin jazz heavyweights Poncho Sanchez and Clare
Fischer; and the Grammy Award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra. The
LJYE mission is to preserve the traditions of Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban music
by teaching it to youth and to create role models for aspiring student
musicians.
